CVE-2020-0894

CVSS v3.1

5.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Microsoft SharePoint Server (affected versions not specified) Microsoft SharePoint Foundation (affected versions not specified) Microsoft SharePoint Enterprise Server (affected versions not specified)
Description A cross-site scripting (XSS) issue exists due to improper sanitization of specially crafted web requests. This could allow a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting attacks, read unauthorized content, use the victim's identity to take actions on the SharePoint site, and inject malicious content into the user's browser. The attacker can run scripts in the security context of the current user.
Recommendations For Microsoft SharePoint Server, consider implementing proper input validation and sanitization for web requests to prevent cross-site scripting attacks. For Microsoft SharePoint Foundation, restrict access to sensitive areas of the site until a fix is available. For Microsoft SharePoint Enterprise Server, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling any modules or features that may be vulnerable to cross-site scripting attacks until a patch is available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
