Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Accusoft ImageGear version 19.5.0
Description
The issue is related to an out-of-bounds write vulnerability in the igcore19d.dll JPEG jpegread precision parser. It can be triggered by a specially crafted JPEG file, potentially leading to remote code execution. An attacker would need to provide a malformed file to the victim to exploit this issue.
Recommendations
For Accusoft ImageGear version 19.5.0, consider avoiding the use of the igcore19d.dll JPEG jpegread precision parser until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict the handling of JPEG files from untrusted sources to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
