CVE-2020-0795

CVSS v3.1

5.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Microsoft Business Productivity Servers versions (affected versions not specified) SharePoint Enterprise Server versions (affected versions not specified) SharePoint Foundation versions (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to the failure to properly protect the web page structure, allowing an attacker to perform cross-site scripting attacks. An authenticated attacker could exploit this by sending a specially crafted request to an affected server. Successful exploitation could enable the attacker to read unauthorized content, use the victim's identity to take actions on the SharePoint site, such as changing permissions or deleting content, and inject malicious content into the victim's browser. For this issue to be exploited, a user must click a specially crafted URL that takes them to a targeted SharePoint Web App site.
Recommendations As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to affected SharePoint servers until a patch is available. For SharePoint Enterprise Server, restrict access to vulnerable modules to minimize the risk of exploitation. For SharePoint Foundation, avoid using specially crafted requests to affected servers until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
