Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
McAfee Endpoint Security (ENS) for Windows versions prior to 10.7.0 February 2020 Update
Description
A privilege escalation issue allows local users to delete and create files they would not normally have permission to, by altering the target of symbolic links whilst an anti-virus scan is in progress. This exploit is timing dependent.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 10.7.0 February 2020 Update, update to the February 2020 Update or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to symbolic links during anti-virus scans until the update is applied.
Fix
Improper Privilege Management
