CVE-2020-8632

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions cloud-init versions prior to 19.4
Description The issue is related to the rand user password function in cloudinit/config/cc set passwords.py, which has a small default password length (pwlen value). This makes it easier for attackers to guess passwords.
Recommendations For versions prior to 19.4, consider increasing the default password length to make it more difficult for attackers to guess passwords. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
