CVE-2020-9425
CVSS v3.1
7.5
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
rConfig versions prior to 3.9.4
Description
An issue in the includes/head.inc.php file allows an unauthenticated attacker to retrieve saved cleartext credentials via a GET request to the "settings.php" endpoint. This occurs because the application fails to exit after a redirect is applied, causing the rest of the page to execute and disclose cleartext credentials in the response.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 3.9.4, update to version 3.9.4 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the "settings.php" endpoint to prevent unauthorized retrieval of cleartext credentials.
