Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Oracle Trade Management versions 12.1.1 through 12.1.3
Description
The issue is related to insufficient access control in the Claims component of Oracle Trade Management, allowing a remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to protected information via the HTTP protocol. Successful attacks may require human interaction and can significantly impact additional products, resulting in unauthorized access to critical data, as well as unauthorized update, insert, or delete access to some data.
Recommendations
For versions 12.1.1 through 12.1.3, consider restricting access to the Claims component until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, limit the use of HTTP protocol to minimize the risk of exploitation. Additionally, ensure that all users are aware of the potential for social engineering attacks that may be used in conjunction with this issue.
