CVSS v3.1

7.2

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 5.6.47 and prior MySQL Server versions 5.7.29 and prior MySQL Server versions 8.0.19 and prior
Description A difficult to exploit vulnerability in the MySQL Server product allows an unauthenticated attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise the server. Successful attacks can result in the unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash of MySQL Server, leading to a denial of service. The vulnerability is related to insufficient access control in the Memcached component.
Recommendations For versions 5.6.47 and prior, update to a version later than 5.6.47 to resolve the issue. For versions 5.7.29 and prior, update to a version later than 5.7.29 to resolve the issue. For versions 8.0.19 and prior, update to a version later than 8.0.19 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Memcached component to minimize the risk of exploitation.
