Description
A cross-site scripting issue exists due to improper sanitization of specially crafted web requests. This could allow an authenticated attacker to perform cross-site scripting attacks, potentially enabling them to read unauthorized content, use the victim's identity to change permissions or delete content, and inject malicious content into the user's browser.
Recommendations
For Microsoft SharePoint Server, consider disabling any functionality that allows the execution of scripts from untrusted sources until a patch is available.
For Microsoft SharePoint Foundation, restrict access to any modules or features that could be used to exploit this issue.
For Microsoft SharePoint Enterprise Server, as a temporary workaround, consider implementing additional validation and sanitization for all web requests to minimize the risk of exploitation.
