| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Oracle Configurator versions 12.1 through 12.2
Description
The issue is related to insufficient access control in the UI Servlet component of Oracle Configurator, allowing an unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise the system. Successful attacks require human interaction from a person other than the attacker and may significantly impact additional products. This can result in unauthorized access to critical data, complete access to all Oracle Configurator accessible data, as well as unauthorized update, insert, or delete access to some of Oracle Configurator accessible data.
Recommendations
For Oracle Configurator versions 12.1 and 12.2, consider restricting access to the UI Servlet component to minimize the risk of exploitation until a patch is available.
As a temporary workaround, limit the use of HTTP protocol for accessing Oracle Configurator to reduce the attack surface.
Restrict access to sensitive data and implement additional monitoring to detect potential unauthorized access or modifications.
