CVE-2020-14651

CVSS v2.0

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:N/I:P/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 8.0.20 and prior
Description The issue allows a high privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise MySQL Server. Successful attacks can result in unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash of MySQL Server, as well as unauthorized update, insert, or delete access to some of MySQL Server's accessible data. The vulnerability is related to insufficient input validation in the Server: Optimizer component of the MySQL Server system.
Recommendations For versions 8.0.20 and prior, update to a version later than 8.0.20 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation. Additionally, restrict network access to the server via multiple protocols to reduce the attack surface.
