CVE-2020-14641

CVSS v2.0

6.8

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:C/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 8.0.20 and prior
Description The issue is related to insufficient input validation in the MySQL Server component, specifically in the Security: Roles subsystem. This can allow a remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to sensitive information or modify, add, or delete data. The vulnerability can be easily exploited by a high-privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols, potentially resulting in unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all MySQL Server accessible data. Successful attacks can also cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete DOS) of MySQL Server.
Recommendations For versions 8.0.20 and prior, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue to prevent exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
