CVE-2020-6454

CVSS v2.0

9.3

High

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Google Chrome versions prior to 81.0.4044.92
Description The issue is related to a use after free in extensions, which could allow an attacker to exploit heap corruption via a crafted Chrome Extension. This could potentially lead to unauthorized access to confidential data, disruption of data integrity, and denial of service. An attacker would need to convince a user to install a malicious extension to exploit this issue.
Recommendations For versions prior to 81.0.4044.92, update to version 81.0.4044.92 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the installation of extensions until the update is applied. Restrict access to the extension installation feature to minimize the risk of exploitation.
