CVE-2020-6471

CVSS v3.1

9.6

Critical

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Google Chrome versions prior to 83.0.4103.61
Description The issue is related to insufficient policy enforcement in developer tools, allowing an attacker to potentially perform a sandbox escape via a crafted Chrome Extension. This could be achieved if the attacker convinces a user to install a malicious extension. The vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to access confidential data, compromise its integrity, and cause a denial of service.
Recommendations For versions prior to 83.0.4103.61, update to version 83.0.4103.61 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the installation of extensions to only trusted sources until the update is applied.
