CVE-2020-14624

CVSS v2.0

6.8

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 8.0.20 and prior
Description The issue is related to insufficient access control in the Server: JSON component of Oracle MySQL Server, allowing a remote attacker to cause a denial of service using the MySQL protocol. Successful attacks can result in unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash of MySQL Server.
Recommendations For versions 8.0.20 and prior, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, limit the privileges of attackers with network access via multiple protocols to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the MySQL protocol in a way that could trigger the denial of service condition until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
