Description The issue is related to insufficient input validation in the Rich Text Editor component of Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to protected information or to modify, add, or delete data. Successful attacks require human interaction and can significantly impact additional products, resulting in unauthorized access to some data and allowing unauthorized updates, inserts, or deletes.
Recommendations For versions 8.56 through 8.58, consider disabling the Rich Text Editor component until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to the PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools product via HTTP to minimize the risk of unauthorized access. Avoid using the product for sensitive operations until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
