High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:H/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Internet Explorer (affected versions not specified)
Description:
A remote code execution issue exists due to the MSHTML engine's improper validation of input. This could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current user. If the user has administrative rights, the attacker could gain control of the system, install programs, view, change, or delete data, or create new accounts with full user rights. In a HTML editing attack scenario, an attacker could trick a user into editing a specially crafted file designed to exploit this issue. The security update addresses the issue by modifying how the MSHTML engine validates input.
Recommendations:
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
