CVE-2020-14553

CVSS v3.1

4.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: MySQL Server versions 5.7.30 and prior MySQL Server versions 8.0.20 and prior
Description: The issue is related to insufficient input validation in the Server: Pluggable Auth component of MySQL Server. This allows an attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise the server. Successful attacks can result in unauthorized update, insert, or delete access to some of MySQL Server's accessible data.
Recommendations: For versions 5.7.30 and prior, update to a version later than 5.7.30 to resolve the issue. For versions 8.0.20 and prior, update to a version later than 8.0.20 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Server: Pluggable Auth component until a patch is available.
