Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Intel(R) Processors (affected versions not specified)
Description:
The issue is related to incomplete cleanup from specific special register read operations in some Intel(R) Processors, which may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable information disclosure via local access. This vulnerability, also known as CROSSTalk or SRBDS (Special Register Buffer Data Sampling), allows attackers to recover results of some instructions executed on another CPU core, leading to data leakage between CPU cores. It is the first vulnerability of the speculative execution mechanism that allows data leakage between separate CPU cores.
Recommendations:
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
