Description:
The issue is related to errors in handling objects in memory within the Windows Camera Codec Pack. Exploitation of this issue could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code, potentially taking control of the affected system if the current user has administrative rights. This could enable the attacker to install programs, view, change, or delete data, or create new accounts with full user rights. The exploitation requires a user to open a specially crafted file with an affected version of the Windows Camera Codec Pack. This could be achieved through email or web-based attacks, where an attacker convinces a user to open the malicious file.
