Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Intel Server Boards, Server Systems and Compute Modules versions prior to 1.59
Description:
The issue is related to a buffer overflow in a subsystem, which may allow a privileged user to potentially enable denial of service via local access. It is also described as a vulnerability in the firmware of Intel server boards, server systems, and compute modules, related to copying a buffer without checking the size of the input data, which could allow an attacker to elevate their privileges.
Recommendations:
For versions prior to 1.59, update to version 1.59 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting local access to the subsystem to minimize the risk of exploitation.
