CVE-2020-14886

CVSS v3.1

6.0

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Oracle VM VirtualBox versions prior to 6.1.16
Description The issue is related to insufficient input validation in the shader skip unrecognized function of the Core component in Oracle VM VirtualBox. This allows a high-privileged attacker with logon to the infrastructure where Oracle VM VirtualBox executes to compromise Oracle VM VirtualBox, potentially resulting in unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all Oracle VM VirtualBox accessible data. Attacks may significantly impact additional products.
Recommendations For versions prior to 6.1.16, update to version 6.1.16 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Core component of Oracle VM VirtualBox to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the shader skip unrecognized function until the issue is resolved.
