CVE-2020-3580

CVSS v3.1

6.1

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software (affected versions not specified) Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) Software (affected versions not specified)
Description: The issue is related to insufficient validation of user-supplied input by the web services interface of affected devices, allowing an unauthenticated, remote attacker to conduct cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks against a user of the web services interface. An attacker could exploit this by persuading a user of the interface to click a crafted link, potentially allowing the attacker to execute arbitrary script code in the context of the interface or access sensitive, browser-based information. The vulnerabilities affect only specific AnyConnect and WebVPN configurations. There have been reports of active exploitation of this issue.
Recommendations: As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the web services interface of the affected device until a patch is available. Restrict access to the web services interface to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the interface until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
