| Vector | AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:N/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Oracle Solaris version 11
Description:
The issue is related to inadequate access control in the Utility component of Oracle Solaris. It allows a low-privileged attacker with network access via SSH to compromise Oracle Solaris, potentially leading to unauthorized modification, addition, or deletion of data. Successful attacks require human interaction from a person other than the attacker and may significantly impact additional products.
Recommendations:
For Oracle Solaris version 11, consider restricting access to the SSH protocol until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, limit the privileges of users who have network access via SSH to minimize the risk of exploitation. Additionally, ensure that all interactions with the Utility component require explicit authorization to reduce the impact of potential attacks. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
