CVE-2020-14672

CVSS v2.0

6.8

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: MySQL Server versions 5.6.49 and prior MySQL Server versions 5.7.31 and prior MySQL Server versions 8.0.21 and prior
Description: The vulnerability is related to insufficient input validation in the MySQL Server component, specifically in the Stored Procedure. This issue can be exploited by a high-privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols, allowing them to compromise the MySQL Server. Successful attacks can result in the ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash of the MySQL Server, leading to a denial of service.
Recommendations: For MySQL Server versions 5.6.49 and prior, update to a version later than 5.6.49 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server versions 5.7.31 and prior, update to a version later than 5.7.31 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server versions 8.0.21 and prior, update to a version later than 8.0.21 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
