CVE-2020-14860

CVSS v3.1

7.2

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: MySQL Server versions 8.0.21 and prior
Description: The issue is related to insufficient input validation in the Server: Security: Roles component of MySQL Server. This allows a high-privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise MySQL Server. Successful attacks can result in unauthorized update, insert, or delete access to some of MySQL Server's accessible data. The attacker can also cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete DOS) of MySQL Server.
Recommendations: For versions 8.0.21 and prior, update to a version later than 8.0.21 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Server: Security: Roles component until a patch is available. Restrict network access to MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
