CVSS v3.1

6.1

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools versions 8.56 through 8.58
Description: The issue is related to insufficient input validation in the PIA Core Technology component. It allows an unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools. Successful attacks require human interaction from a person other than the attacker and may significantly impact additional products. This can result in unauthorized update, insert, or delete access to some of PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools' accessible data, as well as unauthorized read access to a subset of PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools' accessible data.
Recommendations: For versions 8.56 through 8.58, consider restricting access to the PIA Core Technology component to minimize the risk of exploitation until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, review and limit any unnecessary human interaction that could be leveraged by an attacker. Ensure that all inputs are thoroughly validated to prevent unauthorized access or data manipulation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
