Description A use after free vulnerability exists in the JavaScript engine of Foxit Software’s Foxit PDF Reader. A specially crafted PDF document can trigger reuse of previously free memory, which can lead to arbitrary code execution. An attacker needs to trick the user into opening the malicious file to trigger this vulnerability. If the browser plugin extension is enabled, visiting a malicious site can also trigger the vulnerability.
Recommendations For Foxit PDF Reader version 10.1.0.37527, consider disabling the JavaScript engine or the browser plugin extension as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Avoid opening suspicious PDF documents from untrusted sources. Restrict access to malicious sites to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
