CVE-2019-20446

CVSS v3.1

6.5

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions librsvg versions prior to 2.46.2
Description The issue is related to a denial of service caused by a crafted SVG file with nested patterns. This file, when processed by the library, can lead to an exponential growth in the number of final rendered objects. The problem stems from an error in the resource control mechanism within the xml.rs component of the librsvg library. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability to cause a denial of service.
Recommendations For versions prior to 2.46.2, update to version 2.46.2 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the processing of SVG files with nested patterns to minimize the risk of exploitation.
