CVE-2021-2022

CVSS v2.0

6.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:S/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 5.6.50 and prior MySQL Server versions 5.7.32 and prior MySQL Server versions 8.0.22 and prior
Description The issue is related to the InnoDB component of MySQL Server and is caused by errors in resource release. It allows a high-privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise MySQL Server. Successful attacks can result in the unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete DOS) of MySQL Server.
Recommendations For MySQL Server version 5.6.50 and prior, update to a version later than 5.6.50 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server version 5.7.32 and prior, update to a version later than 5.7.32 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server version 8.0.22 and prior, update to a version later than 8.0.22 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
