CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions FactoryTalk Linx (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to the CServerManager::HandleBrowseLoadIconStreamRequest function in messaging.dll, which can lead to unlimited resource allocation. An attacker can exploit this by sending a specially crafted message to the "127.0.0.1:7153" endpoint, potentially causing a denial of service. The CServerManager::HandleBrowseLoadIconStreamRequest function is vulnerable due to the ability to pass an attacker-controlled memory allocation size to the C++ new operator.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
