CVSS v3.1

9.8

Critical

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Exim versions prior to 4.94.2
Description The issue is related to an integer overflow to buffer overflow in the receive add recipient() function via an e-mail message with a large number of recipients, potentially allowing remote execution of arbitrary code. Remote exploitation may be difficult due to resource consumption.
Recommendations For versions prior to 4.94.2, update to version 4.94.2 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the number of recipients in email messages to prevent exploitation of the receive add recipient() function.
