CVE-2020-4363

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions IBM DB2 for Linux, UNIX and Windows (includes DB2 Connect Server) versions 9.7, 10.1, 10.5, 11.1, and 11.5
Description The issue is caused by improper bounds checking, leading to a buffer overflow. This could allow a local attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system with root privileges. The vulnerability is related to insufficient size checking of copied data.
Recommendations For versions 9.7, 10.1, 10.5, 11.1, and 11.5, update to a version that includes the fix for the buffer overflow issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the system to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the system with root privileges until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
