Description A flaw was found in libwebp, related to an out-of-bounds read in the ChunkAssignData function. This issue poses a threat to data confidentiality and service availability. Exploitation of this flaw could allow a remote attacker to access confidential information by creating a specially crafted file.

Recommendations For versions prior to 1.0.1, update to version 1.0.1 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the ChunkAssignData function until a patch is available.
