Description A flaw was found in OpenJPEG’s encoder in the opj dwt calc explicit stepsizes() function, allowing an attacker who can supply crafted input to decomposition levels to cause a buffer overflow. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to system availability. This issue is related to a lack of mechanism for checking the size of copied data, which can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
