| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Ceph versions through 13.2.9
Description
The issue is related to errors in POST requests with invalid XML tags, which can cause a NULL pointer exception and crash the RGW process. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
Recommendations
For versions through 13.2.9, consider restricting access to the RGW process to minimize the risk of exploitation until a patch is available.
As a temporary workaround, avoid using invalid XML tags in POST requests to prevent crashing the RGW process.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
