CVE-2020-25084

CVSS v3.1

3.2

Low

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:C/C:N/I:N/A:L
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions QEMU version 5.0.0
Description The issue is related to a use-after-free in the hw/usb/hcd-xhci.c component of the QEMU hardware emulator. This is caused by the lack of checking the return value of usb packet map. Exploitation of this issue may allow an attacker to cause a denial of service.
Recommendations For QEMU version 5.0.0, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the hw/usb/hcd-xhci.c component until a patch is available. Restrict access to the vulnerable usb packet map function to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
