Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
F2fs-Tools F2fs.Fsck versions 1.12 through 1.13
Description
An information disclosure issue exists in the init node manager functionality. A specially crafted filesystem can be used to disclose information. An attacker can provide a malicious file to trigger this issue, potentially allowing access to confidential information by causing an out-of-bounds read error through a specially formed F2fs filesystem.
Recommendations
For versions 1.12 and 1.13, consider restricting the use of the init node manager functionality until a patch is available.
As a temporary workaround, avoid using specially crafted filesystems that could trigger the out-of-bounds read error.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
