CVE-2020-27781

CVSS v3.1

7.1

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Ceph versions prior to 14.2.16 Ceph versions 15.x prior to 15.2.8 Ceph versions 16.x prior to 16.2.0
Description The issue allows user credentials to be manipulated and stolen by Native CephFS consumers of OpenStack Manila, potentially leading to privilege escalation. An attacker can request access to a share as an arbitrary cephx user, including existing users, and retrieve the access key via interface drivers. All users of the requesting OpenStack project can then view the access key, enabling the attacker to target any resource the user has access to, including those of "admin" users, thus compromising the ceph administrator.
Recommendations For Ceph versions prior to 14.2.16, update to version 14.2.16 or later. For Ceph versions 15.x prior to 15.2.8, update to version 15.2.8 or later. For Ceph versions 16.x prior to 16.2.0, update to version 16.2.0 or later.
