Description A flaw in the USB HID protocol dissector and possibly other dissectors in Wireshark allows a Denial of Service via packet injection or a crafted capture file. The vulnerability is related to reading beyond the boundaries of a data buffer, which can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
Recommendations For Wireshark versions 3.2.0 through 3.2.8, consider disabling the USB HID protocol dissector until a patch is available. For Wireshark version 3.4.0, consider disabling the USB HID protocol dissector until a patch is available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
