Description
A buffer overflow in the operating system allows unauthenticated attackers to cause a denial of service via crafted SMB requests. The issue is related to an operation exceeding the buffer boundaries in memory, which can be exploited by a remote attacker to disrupt service using a specially crafted SMB request.
Recommendations
For Mikrotik RouterOS version 6.47, consider disabling SMB requests until a patch is available to prevent potential denial of service attacks. Restrict access to the vulnerable component to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
