Description An issue exists in the function ftypin located in mp4read.c, which allows for a stack-buffer-overflow. This enables an attacker to cause code execution. The vulnerability is related to a buffer overflow, allowing a remote attacker to access confidential data, compromise its integrity, and cause a denial of service.
Recommendations For versions through 2.10.0, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the ftypin function in mp4read.c until a patch is available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
