CVE-2015-4410

CVSS v3.1

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: rubygem-moped versions prior to the version containing commit dd5a7c14b5d2e466f7875d079af71ad19774609b
Description: The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service or perform a cross-site scripting attack via a crafted string. This is due to the Moped::BSON::ObjectId.legal? method in rubygem-moped. The method can be exploited to consume worker resources or execute malicious scripts.
Recommendations: For versions prior to the version containing commit dd5a7c14b5d2e466f7875d079af71ad19774609b, update to a version that includes the commit dd5a7c14b5d2e466f7875d079af71ad19774609b to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting input to the Moped::BSON::ObjectId.legal? method to minimize the risk of exploitation.
