CVE-2018-19325

CVSS v3.1

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: tcpdump versions 4.9.2 and earlier
Description: The issue is related to a heap-based buffer over-read in the EXTRACT 32BITS function, which is called from the rx cache find function. This occurs due to improper sanitization of the serviceId.
Recommendations: For versions 4.9.2 and earlier, consider disabling the EXTRACT 32BITS function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the affected rx cache find function to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the serviceId variable in the affected code until the issue is resolved.
