Description
The issue is a stack-based buffer overflow that can be exploited by an authenticated user. This is a type of overflow where more data is written to a buffer than it is designed to hold, which can cause the extra data to spill over into adjacent areas of memory, potentially allowing an attacker to execute arbitrary code.
Recommendations
For NETGEAR D6100 version prior to 1.0.0.57, update to version 1.0.0.57 or later.
For NETGEAR R7800 version prior to 1.0.2.40, update to version 1.0.2.40 or later.
