CVE-2019-14941
CVSS v2.0
7.8
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
SHAREit versions 4.0.6.177 and earlier
Description
The issue arises from the failure to check the body length from the received packet header, which is used to allocate memory for the next set of data. This could lead to a system denial of service due to uncontrolled memory allocation.
Recommendations
For SHAREit versions 4.0.6.177 and earlier, consider restricting memory allocation based on received packet headers until a patch is available.
As a temporary workaround, restrict access to the function responsible for allocating memory based on packet headers to minimize the risk of exploitation.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
