Description A race condition in the cryptodev module permitted a data structure in the kernel to be used after it was freed, allowing an unprivileged process to overwrite arbitrary kernel memory.
Recommendations For FreeBSD versions 12.1-STABLE before r356908, update to a version after r356908 to resolve the issue. For FreeBSD versions 12.1-RELEASE before p5, update to a version after p5 to resolve the issue. For FreeBSD versions 11.3-STABLE before r356908, update to a version after r356908 to resolve the issue. For FreeBSD versions 11.3-RELEASE before p9, update to a version after p9 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the cryptodev module until a patch is available.
