Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Dialog Semiconductor SDK versions through 1.0.14.1081 for DA1468x devices
Description
The Bluetooth Low Energy implementation responds to link layer packets with a payload length larger than expected, allowing attackers in radio range to cause a buffer overflow via a crafted packet. This issue affects devices such as the August Smart Lock.
Recommendations
For versions through 1.0.14.1081, consider disabling Bluetooth Low Energy functionality until a patch is available to prevent potential buffer overflow attacks. Restrict access to devices in radio range to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
