Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
rConfig version 3.9.5
Description
The issue allows command injection by sending a crafted GET request to "lib/ajaxHandlers/ajaxArchiveFiles.php" since the
path parameter is passed directly to the exec function without being escaped.Recommendations
For rConfig version 3.9.5, consider disabling access to the "lib/ajaxHandlers/ajaxArchiveFiles.php" endpoint until a patch is available. Restrict the use of the
exec function with unescaped parameters to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
