Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
WildBit Viewer version 6.6
Description:
A buffer overflow in the software allows attackers to cause a denial of service (DoS) via a crafted JPG file. The issue is related to data from a faulting address being used as arguments in a subsequent function call, specifically starting at JPGCodec+0x753648.
Recommendations:
For WildBit Viewer version 6.6, consider avoiding the use of crafted JPG files until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, restricting the handling of JPG files by the software may help minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
